Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Newcastle United.
The Magpies were relegation favourites when Eddie Howe took charge of the club towards the end of 2021, but they are now pushing for a top-half finish in the Premier League table.
Following their recent takeover, Newcastle are expected to spend heavily during the summer market, and according to The Mirror, Hojbjerg is regarded as a leading target.
The report claims that Howe's side are lining up a £30m move for the Denmark international, who has been a vital player for Spurs during the 2021-22 campaign.
Hojbjerg has scored three times and registered four assists in 43 appearances for Antonio Conte's side during the current season and still has more than three years left to run on his contract in North London.
However, Spurs could allegedly let him leave in the upcoming market as part of their own rebuild.
Hojbjerg has scored five times and contributed nine assists in 96 appearances for Tottenham since joining the capital club from Southampton in August 2020.
