Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in discussions with Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic over a move to North London before the end of the transfer window.
The 23-year-old has been strongly linked with West Ham United in recent days, but it has been suggested that talks over a possible switch to the London Stadium have broken down.
According to Sky Sports News, Tottenham are now speaking to the centre-back over a potential move, with the club's director of football Fabio Paratici identifying him as a target.
The report claims that Spurs view Milenkovic as an alternative to Takehiro Tomiyasu, as the English club continue to be frustrated in their discussions with Bologna.
Milenkovic has less than one year left to run on his current deal, meaning that Fiorentina are not in a strong position to negotiate a high transfer fee.
The Serbian enjoyed a strong 2020-21 campaign for his Italian club, making 37 appearances in all competitions, including 34 in Serie A, where he contributed three goals.
