Sunderland have lifted Adam Johnson's suspension as police continue their investigation into allegations that he had sex with an underage girl.
The 27-year-old England international was suspended by the club following his arrest by Durham Police on March 2.
It was confirmed on Tuesday that Johnson's bail had been extended until April 23.
He is now free to return to training with the Black Cats, who are battling against relegation from the Premier League.
Sunderland continue their campaign on Saturday when they face West Ham United at Upton Park.
