Ze Roberto wants Santos return

Brazilian midfielder Ze Roberto insists that he will not wait for former club Santos to make their move.

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Ze Roberto has revealed that he is desperate to return to former club Santos.

The 37-year-old will leave current club Al Gharafa in the summer, and he has made no secret of his desire to return to his former employers.

However, the veteran has claimed that Santos have left him in the dark over a possible transfer, leaving him to seek pastures new.

"My word has crashed back down to earth, and the priority I had previously given to Santos is no longer valid. I cannot stay waiting at the mercy of one club," Ze Roberto told Lance.

"In the past I have given my word to president [Luiz Alvaro Ribeiro] that, if I was to return to Brazil, Santos would have priority. I love the club dearly, but I have to have control of my own life."

Ze Roberto appeared 84 times for Brazil.
