West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino has admitted that he showed "very poor judgement" by inhaling nitrous oxide following his side's 3-0 defeat to Manchester United last month.
Video footage has emerged of the 20-year-old sitting in his car and taking the laughing gas from a balloon before slumping over the steering wheel.
The Baggies have since issued a statement warning him about his conduct and, although nitrous oxide is legal, Berahino admitted that he was unaware of the health risks involved.
"This was very poor judgement on my part and not the right example to be setting. At the time, I wasn't fully aware of the serious health risks involved but now I know, I won't be doing it again," Berahino said in a statement.
Berahino was also involved in a dressing room bust-up with teammate James Morrison following West Brom's 3-3 draw with Cardiff City at the end of March.
