West Ham United forward Modibo Maiga is reportedly close to joining Metz on a season-long loan deal.
The 26-year-old has struggled to establish himself ever since he arrived at Upton Park from Sochaux two years ago.
Now, following the summer arrivals of fellow strikers Enner Valencia, Mauro Zarate and Diafra Sakho, Maiga has seen his chances of starting action further limited, and this has brought about the interest from Metz, according to The People.
The report added that Maiga will spend 12 months at the Stade Saint-Symphorien, with Metz retaining the right to secure his services on a permanent basis for £3m next summer.
