Mike Pollitt has committed his future to Wigan Athletic by signing a new one-year deal with the club.
The 40-year-old has made just 50 appearances since he signed on at the DW Stadium from Rotherham in 2005.
Upon agreeing to the fresh terms, Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has hailed the goalkeeper's professionalism.
"Above all Mike is a fantastic goalkeeper, whose experience and professionalism sets a high standard in training every day," Martinez told the club's official website.
"He has had to be patient for opportunities on the pitch, but his commitment is never questioned and for the younger members of our squad he remains the example to follow, and we're delighted to have him with us next season."
Pollitt has not featured for the Latics since February 2011.
