Brian McDermott in Wolves talks

Wolves reportedly hold talks with Reading boss Brian McDermott over the vacant Molineux job.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly held talks with Reading boss Brian McDermott over the vacant Molineux job.

The 50-year-old is due to meet Reading owner Anton Zingarevich today to discuss his future.

Wolves sacked Mick McCarthy following their 5-1 home defeat to local rivals West Bromich Albion.

Despite interest in McDermott and Brighton boss Gustavo Poyet, former Sunderland manager Steve Bruce remains favourite to take the job.

Wolves are currently 18th in the Premier League with 21 points from 25 games
