No broken ankle for Scotland prop Ryan Grant

Scotland medical staff confirm that prop Ryan Grant did not break his ankle during the team's defeat to Ireland in Dublin.

Scotland medical staff have confirmed that prop Ryan Grant did not suffer a broken ankle during the team's defeat to Ireland on Saturday.

Grant was stretchered off the pitch in Dublin, with initial reports suggesting that he had sustained a serious injury.

However, an X-ray after the game showed that the 29-year-old did not fracture his ankle. Grant is expected to undergo a scan later this week to determine the full extent of the problem.

Scotland continue their Rugby World Cup preparations this Saturday when they face Italy in Rome.
