Preview: Aberdeen vs. Daugava Riga

Sports Mole previews Aberdeen's Europa League qualifying first leg at home to Latvian outfit Daugava Riga.

Aberdeen start their Europa League qualifying campaign on Thursday when they host Latvian outfit Daugava Riga in the first leg of their first-round tie.

The Dons secured a third-place finish in the Scottish Premiership table last season, holding off a challenge from Dundee United for the chance of European football.

Derek McInnes's side recently enjoyed a 7-0 friendly win over Arbroath in their preparations for Thursday's fixture.

McInnes is likely to name a similar lineup that saw Aberdeen cruise to a comfortable victory over their fellow Scots.

Meanwhile, Riga are currently in the middle of their league season, where they sit in seventh position in the table.
