Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised Swansea City defender Kyle Bartley for his performance in their FA Cup draw.
The centre-back made only his second start for the Swans as they drew 2-2 against his old employers in Sunday's third-round clash at the Liberty Stadium.
Wenger believes that Bartley could have had more of a role during his time at the Emirates Stadium if he had bide his time just a little longer.
"He had a good game," Wenger told the club's official website. "He had a little bit a lack of experience.
"He was especially impatient and I couldn't promise him to play with the number of centre backs we had. He came here [to Swansea], he has not played a lot, because he has been injured. We bought him when he was at Bolton, when he was a young boy of 16 years of age. We know he has the quality.
"He played at Rangers. Sometimes when the players have been out on loan and have played a lot, they do not want to wait anymore when they come back."
The replay between the two sides takes place on Wednesday, January 16.
