Dirk Kuyt has said that Liverpool cannot afford to rest on their laurels, despite lifting the Carling Cup trophy days ago.
The Reds, who were victorious in the competition just prior to the international break, return to Premier League action this afternoon when Arsenal travel to Anfield in a pivotal clash in the race for fourth place.
"We'll take all the positives from the final, but we have to move on," he told the club's official website. "We're all looking forward to the game [against Arsenal].
"We are still alive in two competitions – the FA Cup and the race for fourth spot. If we win we will be right back in it, so we know what we have to do.
"The team have shown confidence over the last couple of weeks and months. We are progressing."
Liverpool are seven points adrift of Arsenal in seventh place, but have one game in hand.
