Mesut Ozil: 'I need more goals'

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil admits he must improve his goal tally next season after a mixed debut campaign for the Gunners.

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has admitted that he needs to add more goals to his game following a mixed debut season for the Gunners.

The German got nine assists for Arsene Wenger's side last season but only scored five goals during the campaign.

Ahead of this summer's World Cup in Brazil, Ozil said it is something he needs to improve.

Ozil told Voetbal Primeur: "It's true that I haven't been a real danger, and I demand it of myself. I am working hard at it, and although I did not do well in some situations, I'm working on finding a solution."

The midfielder enjoyed a good start to life in North London before injuries and a loss of form contributed to a frustrating final few months of the campaign.
