Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: 'Arsenal had to bounce back'

Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain believes that the Gunners "had to bounce back" from the horror show against Monaco to get a result against Everton.

Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has praised his teammates for bouncing back from their nightmare Champions League defeat on Wednesday to seal a 2-0 win against Everton in the Premier League.

The Gunners find themselves with a mountain to climb in Europe after succumbing to a 3-1 first-leg loss to Monaco.

However, Arsene Wenger's charges remained focused domestically as goals from Olivier Giroud and Tomas Rosicky helped them beat the Toffees on Sunday.

Oxlade-Chamberlain told BBC Sport after the game: "We knew we had to bounce back, we knew Everton would come at us as they tend to do.

"We had to be careful of them hitting us on the break, especially after Wednesday night's lesson. Going into the break 1-0 up was a big boost for us and we were able to control things more in the second half."

Arsenal currently sit third in the Premier League table.
