Pep Guardiola wants Mikel Arteta at Manchester City?

A number of reports claim that Pep Guardiola is keen to add Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta to his coaching team at Manchester City.

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta could reportedly join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City in the summer.

There have been suggestions that 33-year-old Arteta will end his playing career at the end of the season when his contract with Arsenal expires.

It is believed that Arsene Wenger has already offered the midfielder a position on the coaching staff at the Emirates Stadium, having already done some work with the club's academy during his spell on the sidelines with numerous injuries.

However, widespread reports over the last 24 hours have claimed that Guardiola is keen to add his fellow Spaniard to the incoming managerial setup in East Manchester.

Guardiola and Arteta are known to share a positive relationship, having both come through Barcelona's famous La Masia academy.

While Wenger is believed to have lined up a youth role for Arteta, his position within Guardiola's team would be more senior.
