Harry Redknapp has condemned the sick chants sung by some football fans.

Tottenham Hotspur boss has condemned the offensive chants sung by a section of fans in the North London derby.

Redknapp has said that he is unhappy about what he views as a decline in standards and also questioned why some supporters attend matches.

Chants in October's clash were widely criticised when a small group of Gunners fans targeted their former striker Emmanuel Adebayor with a song about a gun attack on the Togo national team.

"Having seen boys get killed like that, get shot, and then people start singing about it, is unbelievable. It's crazy," said Redknapp.

"No-one deserves that. It's absolute filth. People sing songs about a player's mother dying. I hate to hear it.

"We've all grown up loving the game but when I hear that, they can't be football lovers. For half of them, football is just somewhere to go and have a bit of aggro and chant some filth."

Spurs have the chance to go 13 points clear of Arsenal in the league with a win in the derby on Sunday.
