Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has paid tribute to Rob Holding after the young defender impressed on his debut for the Gunners in Thursday's 2-1 win over the MLS All-Stars.
Holding, a summer signing from Bolton Wanderers, played the entirety of the pre-season match at the heart of the defence as the capital side recorded a late win.
Wenger praised Holding's 'reading of the game' and says that the 20-year-old "has adapted surprisingly in a very good way".
"He has adapted surprisingly in a very good way. He reads the game well and understands what's going on. He anticipates well and that's a quality, at such a young age, that you don't find a lot," Wenger told reporters.
Arsenal will complete their USA tour with a clash against Chivas on Sunday.
