Arsene Wenger: 'Southampton can be ambitious this season'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Southampton can be "ambitious" this season following their strong start to the Premier League campaign.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Southampton can have a successful season in the Premier League.

The Frenchman is preparing his team for tomorrow's clash against the Saints, who are currently third in the table.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has led his side to just three points within league leaders Arsenal, who will host the Saints at the Emirates.

"Pochettino has done very well without speaking too much," Wenger said in a press conference. "You have to give him credit for that. It's absolutely tremendous what Southampton have achieved. They can be very ambitious.

"The league is unpredictable this season. The biggest quality needed to win it will be consistency. All teams want to press and win the ball back quickly, Southampton maybe do it better than others."

The Gunners have suffered two defeats in 11 fixtures, coming against Aston Villa and Manchester United.
