Arsenal sent scouts to watch two French international midfielders in Ligue 1 last weekend, according to reports.
The Gunners were at Lyon's 4-0 rout of Bordeaux on Sunday to get a closer look at Maxime Gonalons and also watched Toulouse starlet Etienne Capoue, according to Sport365.
Gonalons was on the winning side in that match and the 23-year-old holding midfielder already has six caps for his country.
Capoue is also a young midfielder with a big reputation and helped Toulouse come from 2-0 down to draw with Troyes on Sunday.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs including Tottenham Hotspur following a breakthrough season in his home country.
Both players are established members of the French international set-up and have been called up consistently by Les Blues boss Didier Deschamps this season.
