Real Betis will make another attempt to sign Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere in the January transfer window, according to a report.

Real Betis will reportedly make another attempt to sign Jack Wilshere in the January transfer window.

Betis were strongly linked with a move for the Arsenal midfielder during the summer, but the 25-year-old decided to stay at the Emirates Stadium to fight for his place.

Wilshere is yet to begin talks over a fresh deal with the Gunners, however, and his current contract will expire at the end of the season.

The Englishman made just his second Premier League appearance of the season against Manchester City on Sunday, but could not prevent his team from suffering a 3-1 defeat.

According to The Sun, Betis are prepared to cut a deal with Arsenal in January, but are also considering approaching Wilshere with the offer of signing a pre-contract ahead of a move at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

Betis are currently eighth in La Liga - just six points off the top four - after making a solid start to the season.
