David Ospina is reportedly close to joining Napoli in a deal worth £4.5m as a medical has been scheduled by the Italian side.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina is in Naples to undergo a medical with Serie A side Napoli, according to a report.

The 29-year-old has been closing in on a move to the Partenopei after being informed by boss Unai Emery that he is free to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Besiktas had been hopeful of landing the Colombia international, but the London Evening Standard suggests that a move to Napoli is now on the brink of being completed.

Ospina will join Carlo Ancelotti's side on an initial loan deal, setting the Italian club back £895,000, before handing over £3.58m at the end of the season to make it permanent.

Bernd Leno will rival Petr Cech for a starting spot in the Arsenal goal this season following his £19m arrival in June.
