Samir Nasri could remain at Arsenal for the remainder of his contract after talks with Manchester City broke down, according to reports.

The Frenchman was included in the Arsenal side to face Liverpool this weekend despite being on the verge of a reported £22m move to the Etihad Stadium.

However, French television channel Canal+ have claimed that talks have collapsed between the two parties and that the Gunner will see out the remainder of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.

The London club, who have already lost captain Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona this summer, appeared resigned to losing the former Marseille man as well.

Should Nasri remain at the club this season, Arsenal will risk losing him on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires.
