Report: Arsenal lead Bayern Munich in Goncalo Guedes hunt

Arsenal lead Bayern Munich in the hunt for Benfica starlet Goncalo Guedes - dubbed the new Franck Ribery - according to reports.

Arsenal are reportedly beating Bayern Munich in the race to sign highly-rated Benfica forward Goncalo Guedes.

The 17-year-old is said to be leaving the Portuguese giants in January, with reports suggesting that the youngster could become a long-term replacement for Franck Ribery at the Allianz Arena.

However, according to The Daily Express, Guedes favours a move to the Premier League and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is confident of snapping up the starlet.

The Portugual Under-18 international is yet to make a senior league appearance for Benfica, but has impressed for their B team - who play in the country's second tier - this season.
