Tottenham Hotspur reportedly identify Liverpool striker Luis Suarez as a replacement for Gareth Bale should the Welshman move to Real Madrid this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly turn their attention to Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, should Gareth Bale leave for Real Madrid this summer.

Bale has been a reported target for Madrid with the Spanish giants readying a world record-breaking £85m bid for the Welshman.

Spurs are reluctant to sell but the offer could prove too much to turn down, and should Bale leave for Santiago Bernabeu, then the north London outfit will move for Reds striker Suarez, according to the Daily Mail.

Suarez is unsettled at Anfield and admitted earlier this summer that he would be interested in a move to Madrid.

However, only Arsenal have made their interest concrete so far, with the Reds rejecting two offers from the Gunners for the forward.

Tottenham are looking at possible alternatives to Bale and are prepared to plunder the majority of the fee they would receive for selling the winger into a bid for Liverpool's talisman.

A recent report claimed that the Reds are looking for around £55m for the Uruguayan, although the club have always maintained that Suarez is not for sale.

Suarez scored 30 goals for the Reds last season, but will be suspended for the first six games of the new Premier League campaign for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic in a 2-2 draw in April.
