Preview: Monaco vs. Amiens - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Tuesday's Coupe de France clash between Monaco and Amiens, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

A place in the last four of this season's Coupe de France is up for grabs on Tuesday when Monaco and Amiens go toe to toe at the Stade Louis II.

The home side saw off the threat of fellow Ligue 1 outfit Lens in the previous round courtesy of a 4-2 victory, while their visitors made light work of Nancy.

In search of their first Coupe de France title since 1991, Monaco kicked off their cup campaign with a 2-0 victory over Red Star, before going on to defeat Quevilly Rouen and Lens.

Philippe Clement's men were simply too much for Lyon in their last outing on Saturday with first-half goals from Jean Lucas and Wissam Ben Yedder proving to be the difference.

The Monegasques have now won four consecutive home matches and are unbeaten on their own turf since last September when they lost 2-0 to Marseille.

Awaiting them next is a clash versus an opposing side who have not won any of the last nine meetings between the teams stretching back to 1999.

Having reached the final in the last edition of the competition, Tuesday's hosts will be confident of coming out on top in this one come the full-time whistle.

Amiens played out a second straight league stalemate away from home following a 1-1 draw versus Sochaux at the Stade Auguste Bonal on Saturday.

Philippe Hinschberger's men went behind after 20 minutes to Teixeira Maxime's opener before hitting back in the 39th minute through Aliou Badji.

Les Licornes are now unbeaten in four matches with a narrow 1-0 defeat to AC Ajaccio on January 19 being their only loss since the turn of the year.

Tuesday's visitors lock horns with Niort in their next involvement on Saturday while their hosts prepare for the challenge of Lorient the following day.

Team News

Wissam Ben Yedder has netted in his last seven appearances across all competitions and even scored the winner in the last meeting between Tuesday's opponents, making him one to look out for.

Benoit Badiashile, Myron Boadu and Cesc Fabregas are currently sidelined with muscle injuries, while Krepin Diatta misses out through a knee problem.

Monaco will be sweating on the fitness of Aleksandr Golovin after the Russian midfielder missed his side's last outing due to a minor injury.

Vito Mannone was in goal for the last-16 tie versus Lens, and the ex-Arsenal man is in line to return between the sticks for this one.

Amiens' Aliou Badji has come into his own of late, scoring three times in four outings and is expected to lead the line alongside Emmanuel Arokodare.

Having received his marching orders for two bookable offences last time out, 29-year-old Bongani Zungu is suspended for the visitors.

Monaco possible starting lineup:
Mannone; Henrique, Matsima, Disasi, Aguilar; Diop, Lucas, Tchouameni, Martins; Volland, Ben Yedder

Amiens possible starting lineup:
Gurtner; Lomotey, Pavlovic, Mendy; Sy, Gnahore, Lusamba, Gene, Benet; Arokodare, Badji

We say: Monaco 2-0 Amiens

Amiens have done significantly well to get this far but are faced with the difficult task of eliminating one of the firm favourites to go all the way. We fancy Monaco to get the job done and progress into the semi finals.
