Unai Emery names his Aston Villa XI for Wednesday's Champions League fixture at Club Brugge, making one specific notable selection.

Unai Emery has handed a start to Tyrone Mings for Aston Villa's Champions League fixture at Club Brugge on Wednesday night.

Last week, the defender made his first senior start for over 14 months after recovering from a serious knee injury.

The England international now gets the opportunity to experience Champions League football for the first time having been promoted to the team for the showdown in Belgium.

Emery has chosen to make a total of five changes to the team that suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday.

As well as Mings, Diego Carlos and Ian Maatsen are each brought into the backline, with Matty Cash missing out entirely through injury and Lucas Digne and Pau Torres dropping to the substitutes' bench.

In midfield, Amadou Onana and Jacob Ramsey are also only named among the replacements with Boubacar Kamara and Leon Bailey being drafted into the team.

Despite his goals in the previous games against Bayern Munich and Bologna, Jhon Duran has been left out of the team in favour of Ollie Watkins.

If Villa can post a win over Club Brugge at the Jan Breydel Stadium, they will become the first side to ever record victories in their opening four matches in this competition.
