Aston Villa midfielder Ashley Westwood sidelined for a month

Aston Villa midfielder Ashley Westwood is ruled out for up to a month with a knee injury.

Aston Villa have confirmed that midfielder Ashley Westwood will be sidelined for up to four weeks with a knee injury.

The 24-year-old was stretchered off during Villa's 2-1 win at home to Leicester City on Sunday.

Scans have shown that he will be out of action until the New Year with medial ligament damage.

Westwood has made 15 appearances in all competitions for Villa so far this season.

The Villans continue their Premier League campaign on Saturday when they travel to local rivals West Bromwich Albion.
