Alan Hutton happy to help under-fire Paul Lambert

Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton says that he is happy to help under-fire manager Paul Lambert after scoring the winner against Leicester City recently.

Alan Hutton is hopeful that his goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over Leicester City will help relieve some of the pressure on Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert.

The Villans secured back-to-back Premier League victories after following up their 1-0 win away to Crystal Palace on Tuesday by beating the bottom-of-the-table Foxes.

Prior to being victorious at Selhurst Park, Lambert's side had gone nine top-flight outings with a win, scoring just three goals in that run, but Hutton says that Villa are a team on the up now.

"I hope it has eased the pressure on him – we've got a lot of hard games out of the way," he told Sky Sports News. "I understand the fans' frustrations.

"They come and want to see you winning and playing good football but we're are five unbeaten now and we want to keep getting better and better."

Villa, who sit 11th in the Premier League table, face West Midlands rivals West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.
