Alex McLeish is expected to be officially revealed as Aston Villa’s manager in the next 24 hours, according to Sky Sports News.
The former Birmingham City manager met with chairman Randy Lerner in London yesterday, where they reportedly discussed transfer targets as well as what is expected to be a three-year agreement for McLeish.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Villa supporters gathered at their club’s ground yesterday evening to show their disapproval of the probable appointment. Anti-McLeish graffiti was also daubed across the entrance of the Bodymoor Heath training ground.
Blues acting chairman Peter Pannu has said in recent days that City will seek to obtain compensation, which if the deal is done this month would amount to £5.4m.
