Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor denies that he will join Sunderland.

Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has denied suggestions that he will join former boss Martin O'Neill at Sunderland this summer.

The 25-year-old, who is expected to return from an ankle injury in two weeks, has deemed the link "pure speculation".

"When you've played with a manager before, especially one as good as Martin O'Neill, then you are going to be linked with him. But it's just pure speculation. I can assure Villa fans I haven't heard anything about it and I'm happy here," he told The Sun.

Agbonlahor scored six goals for Villa last season.
