Former Aston Villa striker Dwight Yorke believes that the club have to keep hold of Christian Benteke.
The Belgian international has been linked with a switch to Liverpool following his resurgence in form at Villa Park last season, with reports suggesting that he could attract a £30m transfer fee.
Yorke says that the Midlands outfit must resist any offers to sell the 24-year-old if they want to progress.
"I think it's crucial Aston Villa manage to keep hold of Christian Benteke over the summer, but I also believe it's highly unlikely they will," Yorke told Kicca.
"Losing him will be a massive blow. It will be hard to replace him and the impact he has on the side. His goals played a big part in Villa staying in the Premier League, after all."
Benteke scored 15 goals in 34 appearances for Villa last term.
