Tim Sherwood: 'Players not interested in Europa League'

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood believes that qualifying for the Europa League would not boost the club's hopes of attracting new players in the summer.

Tim Sherwood has insisted that he does not think qualifying for the Europa League will help Aston Villa attract new signings during this summer's transfer window.

The club will qualify for the competition if they beat Arsenal in next month's FA Cup final, having beaten Liverpool in their last-four clash at the weekend.

The manager told the Birmingham Mail: "It depends what level of player. A lot of players are not too interested in playing Europa League.

"I'm not sure it makes too much difference. It would only really be different if you were in the Champions League."

Villa last played in the Europa League during the 2010-11 season.
