Thomas Tuchel has insisted that Edinson Cavani will remain at Paris Saint-Germain this month amid links with a move to Atletico Madrid.
The Uruguay international, now in his seventh season at the Parc des Princes, is out of contract at the end of the 2019-20 season.
Reports have claimed that Cavani is open to joining Atletico this month, with the La Liga side struggling for goals since August.
Speaking on the subject of a potential move for Cavani, Tuchel told AS: "As for Edinson, I've said it before – it was difficult when he picked up an injury as he lost his rhythm and others played well.
"But he is here, in a good frame of mind and everyone has to prepare in the best way to be ready when needed.
"I trust them and think they will stay with us. It is not necessary to imagine anything else."
Sources suggest that the Ligue 1 champions, keen to avoid losing Cavani for free next summer, would let him leave this month for a fee of £12m.
