Luciano Vietto completes Atletico Madrid switch

Atletico Madrid confirm the signing of 21-year-old striker Luciano Vietto from Villarreal on a six-year deal.

Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of Luciano Vietto from La Liga rivals Villarreal.

The Argentine striker netted 12 league goals and 20 in all competitions during his only season for Villarreal, but has now made the move to the capital on a six-year contract.

The 21-year-old, who will link up with his new teammates on Thursday, will provide competition for the likes of Fernando Torres and Raul Jimenez to fill the void left by Mario Mandzukic, who joined Juventus earlier in the transfer window.
