Arsenal, Liverpool trigger Luciano Vietto clause

A report claims that Arsenal and Liverpool have both triggered the release clause of Villarreal forward Luciano Vietto, which stands in the region of £14m.

Arsenal and Liverpool have both reportedly triggered the release clause of Villarreal forward Luciano Vietto.

The 21-year-old joined Villarreal from Racing last summer and struck 18 times in 42 games during his first season in European football.

A host of clubs have been linked with a move, with Atletico Madrid said to lead the race for the Argentine youngster, who recently admitted that he could leave the Yellow Submarine this summer.

However, according to The Metro, both Arsenal and Liverpool have bid £14m for the forward, with that figure meeting the release clause in Vietto's contract.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have also been previously credited with an interest.
