Barcelona defender Eric Abidal featured for the club's B team in a friendly game against Ligue 2 side Istres on Tuesday.

The French left-back resumed training with the first team in mid-December after recovering from liver transplant surgery he underwent in April 2012.

Last month the 33-year-old was given the all-clear to return to first-team duty, but had yet to feature for the Blaugrana.

However, Abidal made his return to a football match after over a year today and played 65 minutes.
