Barcelona confirm that defender Adriano will be out of action for up to six weeks with a hamstring tear.

Barcelona have confirmed that defender Adriano will be sidelined for up to six weeks with a hamstring tear.

The Brazil international was forced off during Sunday's 3-1 win over Rayo Vallecano at Camp Nou in La Liga.

"Adriano suffered a hamstring tear in his right thigh," read a statement on Barca's official website. "[The] approximate time out [will be] between four and six weeks."

Sunday's victory saw the Catalan side restore their 13-point lead at the top of the league table.
