Gerard Deulofeu thankful for Everton spell

Barcelona attacker Gerard Deulofeu publishes a letter on his Twitter account thanking everyone involved with Everton after he completed his loan spell at Goodison Park.

Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu has thanked everyone involved with Everton for their "welcome and fantastic support" during his season at the club.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez brought Deulofeu to Goodison Park on a season-long loan deal, and after returning to Spain to become part of the first-team squad at Camp Nou the Spaniard has expressed his gratitude to the Toffees' players, staff and supporters.

In a letter published on his Twitter account, the 20-year-old said: "I have grown as a football player, but also as a person and that is why I would like to thank every person that has helped and accompanied me on this journey, the club and the manager for the great opportunity, my teammates for welcoming me and to the fans for the fantastic support.

"I am proud and fulfilled with my year at Everton, having both helped the club and hoping that the fans enjoyed my football. I wish Everton lots of luck and success in the future. You will always be in my heart."

Deulofeu scored four times in 29 appearances in all competitions.
