Jose Luis Mendilibar praises Barcelona

Jose Luis Mendilibar praises Luis Enrique's Barcelona as the Spaniard show signs of a similar playing style to that of Pep Guardiola's first season in charge.

Levante boss Jose Luis Mendilibar has praised Luis Enrique's Barcelona, as the Catalan team have shown signs of a similar playing style to that of Pep Guardiola's side during his first season in charge.

Mendilibar notices similarities between the two managers' tactical styles and applauds the quick effect that Enrique has had on the team.

"Barcelona have become more aggressive, just like in Guardiola's first season, especially since they recover quickly after losing the ball in advanced areas," the Levante coach said, according to Sky Sports News.

"Luis Enrique is not a manager who only picks big-name players or has his favourites.

"He has not been afraid to include youngsters in his team, even though the press are always suggesting who should be playing."

Levante host Barcelona at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia on Sunday, as Enrique looks to continue his team's winning start to the La Liga campaign.
