Report: Luis Enrique to become Barcelona boss next week

A report claims that Celta Vigo boss Luis Enrique will become the new head coach of Barcelona next week.

Celta Vigo boss Luis Enrique will reportedly become the new head coach of Barcelona next week.

The Spaniard, who played for the Catalan outfit between 1996 and 2004, started his managerial career with Barcelona B in 2008, before leaving for Roma in 2011.

The 44-year-old has led Celta into eighth position in La Liga this season, with his work not going unnoticed by the powers-that-be at the Camp Nou.

Enrique is believed to have met Barcelona's sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta last week with a view to replacing Gerardo Martino at the end of the season.

According to Goal.com, that will officially occur next week following the completion of the La Liga season.

Barcelona will retain the Spanish title this season if they beat Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
