Barcelona reportedly swoop to sign Mallorca youngster Chadi Riad, who had been strongly linked with Villarreal.

Barcelona have reportedly swooped to sign Mallorca youngster Chadi Riad.

The 15-year-old, who is a Morocco youth international, has been linked with Villarreal in recent weeks.

However, according to Sport, Barcelona have secured the services of the defender, who will move to the club's La Masia academy at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

The report has claimed that Riad will initially line up for Barcelona's Juvenil B team with the view to progressing over the next few years.

Riad recently played a key role in the Morocco Under-15 side which won the Youth African Games.

Barcelona's first team will attempt to return to winning ways following back-to-back draws against Valencia and Real Madrid when they visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga on Sunday night.
