Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has reportedly offered midfielder Philippe Coutinho a definite starting role after allegedly outlining Gerard Deulofeu's exit from the club.
Coutinho moved to Spain from Liverpool for a fee in the region of £142m, and joined a host of attacking players including Ousmane Dembele, Paco Alcacer and former Everton man Deulofeu.
According to Don Balon, however, Barca boss Valverde has told Coutinho that Deulofeu is to join Serie A side Napoli, effectively granting 25-year-old Coutinho a place in his starting team.
The source says that Napoli are the frontrunners for Deulofeu's signature, but are wary of making a move due to the Spaniard's poor form with his current employers.
The former Toffee has failed to have a significant impact in Valverde's team since returning to Barcelona from Goodison Park, and the manager has allegedly placed the Spaniard on the periphery of his squad.
