Half-Time Report: Adriano Moke effort gives Macclesfield Town lead over Barnet

A goal from Adriano Moke gives Macclesfield Town a 1-0 lead at half time against Conference Premier leaders Barnet.

Macclesfield Town go into half time of their Conference Premier fixture with leaders Barnet with a 1-0 lead given to them by Adriano Moke.

After a scrappy opening that saw neither side gain a stranglehold on the game, Barnet finally threatened through Charlie MacDonald who saw a fierce drive palmed away by Rhys Taylor.

The Bees should have taken the lead shortly after the quarter-hour mark when John Akinde and Lee Cook combined to set up Luisma Villa, but the Spaniard blazed over the crossbar from 10 yards.

Two minutes later, Villa saw Taylor tip his curling effort over the crossbar before Macclesfield finally offered something in attack, with Scott Barrow having a shot deflected onto the post.

Taylor's impressive day between the posts continued when he was equal to another MacDonald attempt, but he wasn't required to make a save when Cook blasted wide when well placed.

It appeared as though the game would remain goalless at half time but three minutes before the break, Macclesfield took a surprise lead when a low shot from Moke found its way into the bottom corner.
