Marseille boss Didier Deschamps has admitted that his side learned a lesson after being beaten 2-0 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League last night.
The Frenchman, whose side had opportunities to go ahead in the first half, admits that the experienced German outfit were more clinical on the night and taught his side a lesson.
"This is the top level, and we learned that tonight," he said.
"The [first] goal just before the break hurt us because they had failed to create many chances before that.
"They made mistakes in the first half [but our players] did not take advantage. They punished us."
Marseille have slipped to 9th place in Ligue 1 after a run of seven games without a win.
