Jerome Boateng has described Bayern Munich's defeat to Wolfsburg in the DFL-Supercup as "very irritating".
The Bundesliga champions led early in the second half, but a late Nicklas Bendtner equaliser allowed the DFB-Pokal cup holders to force penalties, winning the shootout.
The defender told the German league's website: "We clearly had the better chances and should've already been in the lead at half time. In the end we lost on penalties after we conceded a last minute equaliser.
"It's very, very irritating and shouldn't happen. But there is nothing we can do about that now. We have to learn from it. Wolfsburg maybe had one or two chances throughout the 90 minutes, while we had five or six clear-cut chances. We simply have to make more of our chances and be more clinical in front of the goal.
"Our coach wasn't the only one who wanted to win the game, the entire team did. Every single player wanted to win and we are all disappointed that it didn't work out."
