Bastian Schweinsteiger rallies Bayern Munich ahead of Stuttgart trip

Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger rallies the troops ahead of their trip to Stuttgart as the Bundesliga leaders seek a first victory of 2015.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is demanding improvement against Stuttgart on Saturday as Bayern Munich look to correct their slow restart to the Bundesliga season.

The league leaders have failed to win either of their games since returning from the winter break - losing 4-1 at Wolfsburg and drawing 1-1 against Schalke 04 after having Jerome Boateng sent off in the first half.

Second-from-bottom Stuttgart perhaps present easier opposition this weekend and midfielder Schweinsteiger has admitted that there are no excuses.

"We need a win as well as a good performance in Stuttgart," he told reporters.

"We played better than we did against Wolfsburg, we controlled the game more and didn't allow them to counter-attack, but we're not happy to have drawn with Schalke.

"Even with 10 men, we still had chances to win the game."

Bayern still hold an eight-point lead over Wolfsburg at the top of the table.
