Bastian Schweinsteiger returns to training

Bayern Munich player Bastian Schweinsteiger returns to training.

Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has made a successful return to training, the Bundesliga champions confirmed on their official website.

The Bayern vice captain has been out of action for three months having undergone two operations on an ankle injury, but is now pushing for a return to action.

"Schweinsteiger completed the whole session including the initial tactical drills, carried out behind closed doors, then the football fitness course ending with a shot at goal and the final three-against-three tournament," the club said in a statement on their website.

Bayern are currently 13 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.
