Arjen Robben's curling strike gives Bayern Munich a 1-0 win over reigning champions Borussia Dortmund in tonight's DFB Pokal quarter-final.

Bayern Munich have avenged last season's cup final defeat to Borussia Dortmund with a 1-0 victory in tonight's DFB Pokal quarter-final at the Allianz Arena.

The Bundesliga leaders started brightly against the reigning league and cup holders, going close through Toni Kroos and Javi Martinez.

Just before the break Bayern made the breakthrough when Arjen Robben curled home an accurate strike from 20 yards.

Dante had a chance to extend their advantage but did could get enough purchase on his strike from range.

Dortmund mounted a response after the interval, but were restricted to powerful efforts from distance by Ilkay Gundogan and Marco Reus.

Daniel van Buyten and Mario Mandzukic both missed chances to seal the match late on as Dortmund struggled to find a way back into the tie.

Bayern stayed composed in the final few minutes to book a place in the last eight at the expense of Jurgen Klopp's side.
