Bayern Munich confirm Robert Lewandowski signing

Bayern Munich confirm that Robert Lewandowski will join them at the end of the season.

Bayern Munich have confirmed that Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski will join them on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Reports broke on Saturday morning that the Polish international's protracted move between the Bundesliga rivals was close to completion.

The Bavarian giants have since confirmed that the 25-year-old, whose Westfalenstadion deal expires in the summer, has passed a medical and put pen to paper on a five-year contract at the Allianz Arena worth around £9m a year.

A short statement on the club's official Twitter page read: "Official: #FCBayern have signed Robert Lewandowski (25)! The striker has signed a 5-year contract until 2019. More soon on FCB.de."

Lewandowski has scored 81 goals in 146 Bundesliga and European games since joining Dortmund in 2010.
