Lyon are reportedly set to complete the signing of former Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng on Wednesday.
Earlier this year, it was announced that the Germany international would not be extending his contract with Bayern, seeing him leave as a free agent after 10 years in Bavaria.
Boateng was previously linked with moves to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur among others, but Lyon reportedly moved to sign the veteran defender during the last knockings of the summer window.
According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Boateng has already agreed personal terms on a deal until 2023 and has touched down in Lyon ahead of his official announcement.
Romano adds that Boateng still needs to undergo the second part of his medical with Peter Bosz's side, who banished current centre-back Marcelo down to reserve training for inappropriate conduct earlier this month.
Boateng left Bayern after making 363 appearances for the German giants in all competitions, winning nine Bundesliga titles and two Champions League crowns in that time.
